Hong Kong, People’s Republic of China

The weather has been delightful on this trip, but came to an end today.  We sailed into the Hong Kong Harbor and found fog, drizzle, and wind.  However, we found adventure none the less.  We are berthed in a new complex next to the star ferry terminal on the Kowloon side, a beautiful and convenient spot.  The developers of this complex cleverly designed it so all departing cruise ship passengers would have to walk through a giant upscale mall on their way to the street.  Those clever Chinese!

We learn things every day.  This art exhibit of plastic dinosaurs is supposed to be a metaphor for Chinese economics.  The raw materials came from the West, it was made in China and marketed to children in the West. Who knew these plastic dinosaurs had any meaning at all?

Tomorrow we begin another adventure.  We disembark the ship for five days in Guilin, Xian, and Beijing.  We are really looking forward to this overland adventure.  Hopefully, we will catch up with the ship in Singapore.
