Corregidor Island, Phillipines

We spent the day on this island, sacred ground to the people of the Philippines.

This is the dock where General McArthur vowed to return after vacating the land to the Japanese in World War II. In the background to the right is Bataan.

We had a knowledgeable guide, and learned/remembered much about
World War II.

We are Don and Ann Barnes. We have had many travel experiences over the years, mostly for work. We are first timers going around-the-world hoping to test out Magellan’s theory. In the past several years we have had close calls with multiple cancers, car accidents, and the likes. These experiences along with Ann’s father’s mantra, “We have never regretted the things we have experienced, only those that we didn’t”, have all brought us to this point in our lives. It is a good time to just do it.
